Emirates Skycargo Demonstrates Excellence At Transport Logistic 2009
Munich, Germany, 14th May 2009 – Emirates SkyCargo has once again demonstrated the importance of the German market to its operations with its participation at Transport Logistic 2009 and its accompanying event, Air Cargo Europe in Munich. Transport Logistic is the world’s biggest cargo trade fair.
Prakash Nair, Emirates Manager Network Cargo Sales Development, said, “For Emirates SkyCargo, this show – in one of our most vital markets – is an important business platform for us, and an excellent meeting point for the industry to discuss innovative products and solutions, particularly at such a challenging time.”
Germany is one of Emirates SkyCargo’s key markets. The airline offers nearly 1,500 tonnes of maindeck and bellyhold cargo capacity of from the world’s biggest exporting nation each week.
In the last 12 months, Emirates transported 59,000 tonnes of machinery, vehicles, chemicals, foodstuffs and textiles from Germany to consumers around the world.
Mr Nair added, “Emirates SkyCargo has been serving German exporters for 22 years with direct Boeing 747 freighter flights to Dubai and Toledo, US, as well as in the bellies of our 49 passenger flights a week. This is a relationship of which we are extremely proud and one we are looking to grow as swift, reliable service becomes the paramount concern for shippers.”

Emirates SkyCargo received the award for Air Cargo Industry Training and People Development at the World Air Cargo gala awards evening in Munich, hosted by Air Cargo Week. The award, accepted by Ram Menen, Emirates Divisional Senior Vice President Cargo, highlights Emirates' investment in its people - "our most important assets and the main drivers of our overall success", he said.
