dnata Airport Operations is the sole ground handling agent at Dubai International and has been pivotal in establishing the airport as a major global hub.
From humble beginnings, the airport has become the aviation and cargo capital of the Middle East and dnata Airport Operations – one of the four divisions which make up dnata - has been intrinsic to maintaining the momentum of its rapid growth.
In 2009, its 6,500 employees served 135 airlines as the airport saw a 12 per cent rise in traffic to 42 million passengers and a 12.6 per cent increase in cargo trade to 1.9 million tones.
dnata Airport Operations played a key role in bringing services at the new state-of-the-art Terminal 3 online in 2008 and will be fundamental in the airport reaching its target capacity of 70 million passengers a year. In the same year, dnata also handled the world’s first commercial A380 flight.
Its passenger services team ensures travellers have a smooth journey from check-in to boarding and from landing to baggage collection, while its premium meet-and-greet service Marhaba eases more than half a million passengers a year through the process.
Ramp services - supported by a fleet of 3,880 vehicles and a sophisticated control centre - can handle any size or type of aircraft and are trained to load, unload and clean planes with speed and efficiency.
Its baggage services operation, bolstered by the
introduction of a state-of-the-art tracking and carousel system which gives it a capacity of 7,000 bags per hour, processed more than 45 million arrival and departure bags last year.
In addition, its technical services team provides 24/7 support, offering maintenance solutions for airlines, terminals and ground vehicles.
