Le Meridien Al Aqah Beach Resort is a five-star leisure retreat nestled between Fujairah’s majestic Hajar Mountains and the Indian Ocean.
The Dhs 160million hotel, which features 218 rooms with views overlooking the pool, beach and landscaped grounds, is managed by Starwood on behalf of the Emirates Group.
Located just 90 minutes drive from Dubai, the 21-storey hotel - which opened in 2002 and has a turnover of Dhs 90million - offers year-round sunshine and a professional dive centre with access to the region’s finest sites.
The centrepiece of the grounds is one of the UAE's largest free-form swimming pools, while other leisure amenities range from a kid’s club with its own pool, to a wellness centre, tennis and squash courts, and facilities for beach volleyball and football, water polo, sailing and fishing.
For meetings and receptions, which generate 20% of the hotel’s business, there is a ballroom with capacity for 600 people, three additional meeting rooms, a business centre, plus space for up to 1000 people at outdoor functions.
In addition, there are seven executive floors, featuring royal club rooms, a presidential suite and 10 executive suites, while an exclusive private dining room can be reserved for special occasions.
Dining options are extensive too, including signature restaurant Taste, offering Thai cuisine; Swaad, serving contemporary Indian cuisine; Gonu, a beach side bar and grill; Views, a 24-hour brasserie; Astro's rooftop bar; Tea & Dates lobby lounge; and Baywatch Village which features Italian restaurant Sapore, a swim-up pool bar and a beach bar.
