Premier Inn, the UK’s largest hotel brand, entered the UAE market with the opening of a 308-bedroom hotel at Dubai Investments Park in 2008 and a 230-room property at Dubai Silcon Oasis in 2009.
These hotels marks the beginning of a strategic partnership between Emirates Group and Britain’s leading hospitality firm Whitbread Plc to develop the Premier Inn brand throughout the region.
Premier Inn, a limited-service hotel that is reasonably priced but does not compromise on quality, addresses the increasing demand for affordable, good-value accommodation in Dubai.
Room rates are fixed low, with increases only applied when selected major evens are being held in Dubai, while standards remain high in stylish air-conditioned en-suite rooms.
A rooftop swimming pool with whirlpool bath, combined with a restaurant, bar and Costa Coffee shop, make the Premier Inn ideal for business travellers and holidaymakers, with free Wi Fi in every room and access to meeting room facilities.
The Premier Inn, which has 500 hotels with 36,000 rooms in the UK, aims to open up Dubai to budget-conscious travellers who previously might not have considered it as a destination.
A third hotel is due to open in 2009 located adjacent to Dubai International Airport. The first Premier Inn in Abu Dhabi is scheduled to open in 2010, with further properties planned in Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Ras Al Khaimah, Umm Al Quwain and Fujairah. There are also projects being considered in Oman, Qatar and Saudi Arabia.
