Skywards is a frequent flyer programme which rewards the loyalty of Emirates airline passengers with a range of travel and lifestyle benefits.
There are no qualifying criteria and it is free to join the three membership tiers – Blue, Silver and Gold. Silver status is reached by earning 25,000 tier miles or flying 20 sectors in a calendar year, while Gold is awarded after the accumulation of 50,000 tier miles or 40 sectors.
In addition to the Miles earned while flying, members can also accrue Skywards Miles at partner businesses of Emirates, such as Le Meridien, Jumeirah, Citibank, Hertz, Damas, InterContinental Hotels, as well as other airlines.
Travel privileges range from earning Miles to hassle-free check-in to excess baggage allowance and access to the business lounge at Dubai International Airport.
For Gold members, benefits include guaranteed reservations on full flights, entry to lounges, networking opportunities and access to private clubs, resorts and spas worldwide.
As well as using their Miles to buy or upgrade flights, Skywards members can shop at The Emirates High Street, which has a choice of more than 400 products, ranging from incredible leisure experiences, to global luxury brands to everyday lifestyle objects and accessories.
The success of the programme led to the creation of Skysurfers, a club tailored to the preferences and interests of young travellers aged between two and 16, which offers similar travel privileges and leisure deals.
