Gary Chapman
President Group Services & Dnata, Emirates Group
Gary Chapman has been a key member of the management team for two decades. Responsible for the Group's finance, human resources, legal and IT functions, in addition to Dnata and associated companies, he has overseen the posting of profits in every year of his service.
Mr Chapman, a qualified accountant (ACA - NZ), joined Emirates in 1989 with more than a decade of experience working in the Gulf. He was handed responsibility for the company’s finances, but his role has evolved in step with the rapid growth and diversification of the Emirates Group.
In his current position, he is responsible for the corporate support functions of the Emirates Group - finance, IT, human resources, medical services, legal - as well as jet fuel price risk management.
In addition, Mr Chapman manages the global operations of Dnata - ground handling and travel services – and a number of other associated divisions within the Emirates Group.
He is also Chairman of Maritime and Mercantile International LLC and Changi International Airport Services Pte Ltd, and is a member of the board of directors for Emirates Flight Catering Co. LLC, Emirates CAE Flight Training, Premier Travel Inn Gulf LLC and Dnata’s overseas ground handling operations.
Prior to joining the Emirates Group, Mr Chapman spent 12 years with a prominent Arab trading concern involved in construction and the provision of support services to the oil industry. His assignment postings included Oman, Bahrain, Kuwait, Paris and Houston.
