Dubai, UAE, 6 November 2019: HE Lieutenant General Dhahi Khalfan Tamim, Deputy Chairman of Police and General Security in Dubai, and his team visited Emirates Group Security (EGS) facilities in DAFZA and the Transguard Group. The visit emphasised the close cooperation and the trust authorities place in EGS’ ability in preventing crime, and offering better security services, border enforcement and aviation security.

The VIP delegation saw first-hand the bolstering of aviation security through the range of in-house training and education programmes, and was briefed on Transguard Group’s teams and their key role in supporting EGS’ mission and vision. They toured EGS’ purpose-built headquarters and Transguard’s business divisions – those handling valuables for commercial and international shipping, its state-of-the-art cash management centre, and the control rooms for cybersecurity, information and aircraft security, custody and treasury.

HE Lieutenant General Dhahi Khalfan Tamim said, “We’re extremely impressed by Emirates Group Security’s high-tech IT systems powered by artificial intelligence and their strategic approach towards combatting cybercrime. Their focus on investing in people, adopting best practices, helping to keep aviation and the country safe for business and tourism to flourish, must be appreciated.”

Dr Abdulla Al Hashimi, Divisional Senior Vice President Emirates Group Security said: “It was an honour to receive HE Lt-Gen Dhahi Khalfan Tamim. His visit reaffirms the close working relationship we have forged with the authorities in realising the vision of Dubai and the UAE. We are operating in an increasingly complex landscape, with a steep rise in transnational crime, smuggling of contraband, syndicated theft, human trafficking, and greater public demands for safety.

“We meet these challenges by leveraging technology, investing in our human capital, and living the maxim: security is everybody’s business. Strong relationships between industry and states allow for the development of a greater integrated approach to general crime prevention. Our role in crime prevention, general security services and aviation security is increasingly important in today’s world.”
